Rinse your mouth with warm water, save any pieces, and use a cold compress on your cheek to ease swelling. Avoid chewing on that side, and call us for a same-day visit. Many broken teeth can be repaired the same day.
Usually not. A dentist is best placed to treat a toothache. Go to the ER if swelling spreads toward your eye or neck, or you have trouble breathing or swallowing, or a high fever.
Pick the tooth up by the crown, not the root, rinse it gently, and try to put it back in its socket. If you can't, keep it in milk and call us right away. A knocked-out tooth has the best chance of being saved within an hour.
